Come along if you are aged 16 – 24 years and need help with finding work, applying for apprenticeships, or courses.  Also we offer more general help in finding out what you want to do, what you’re good at and confidence building etc.  Our volunteers offer practical help, are supportive, and most importantly, we are good listeners. We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month. The next date is Wednesday 17th April, 4-5.30pm.

FARINGDON NCT THE BIG PUSH
JUNE 23RD 2013 - 3PM
Becoming a parent is an amazing and exciting time, but it can bring challenges too, and the right practical and emotional support can make all the difference for new mums and dads who are struggling with the transition to their new role.
Now, NCT Faringdon Branch is asking you to push your pram, slip on your sling or take your toddlers by the hand and get your family and friends together for The Big Push to raise funds to help further the charity’s work with new parents in need of postnatal care and support.
The Big Push takes place on Sunday 23rd June at The Folly, Faringdon. Meet by the gates at the bottom of the hill at 3pm and finish at the top of the folly with a picnic.

Big School Fete
Faringdon Junior, Infant and pre-schools are joining forces to have one big school fete on Saturday June 29th from 1.30 to 4.30pm on the Junior School playing fields. Entrance to the fete with a raffle ticket. Raffle tickets are available to buy from The Nut Tree, The Gifted Magpie and Hare in the Woods. Please support the local schools by buying a raffle ticket or two. Even if you can't make it on the day, with a £100 cash raffle prize and many more prizes to be drawn on the day, it's worth buying a ticket or two to support a good cause!.

BUSCOT PARK FUN RUN
On Sunday 30th June 2013, The Rotary Club of Faringdon & District are holding their annual Fun Run over 5k and 10k at the beautiful and scenic Buscot Park House gardens. This is a truly great day out for the whole family to enjoy. The races run through formal parkland and woods and round open fields on a mix of gravel and tamac.
We have accurately measured the course using GPS and water stations will be position at strategic locations. The 5k race starts at 10.30am and the 10k race at 11.15am. If you would like to enrol for either race, please contact Rotarian Ian Lloyd at 38 Folly View Road, Faringdon, SN7 7DH. Or at ian@propertyandenergy.co.uk.

Comedian and national treasure Dave Thursby has died, and on the day of his funeral, friends and colleagues gather beside his coffin to pay their last respects. Dave's glamorous widow Laura has arranged a funeral to remember. An unfamiliar woman in flamboyant mourning clothes turns out to be Dave's ex-wife from before he was famous, and a series of revelations end with all the guests asking themselves if they ever knew the "real" Dave.
Three weeks later is the disposal of Dave's ashes. The atmosphere is tense as more truths are revealed; even from beyond the crematorium Dave seems to be having the last laugh …

Longcot Ocktaves presents 'Divas of Swing' in St Mary's Church, Longcot - Friday 19th July 2013: a fundraising Jazz evening with award winning jazz vocalist, Val Wiseman. Divas of Swing will be the first in a series of musical evenings in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Church, Longcot to help raise funds to create a kitchen and toilets in the Church.
Val Wiseman will celebrate the lives and work of some of the greatest vocalists of the 20th Century including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O’Day, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday. There will be sales of plants, crafts and woodwork plus bric-a-brac and books.  Delicious refreshments and cakes are available throughout the afternoon; also music and a raffle with some great prizes.  And don't miss our anniversary giant beehive willow feature!!
Root & Branch helps people to improve their mental and physical health and there will be activities on display including wood, metal, art and craft work.  There will be opportunities to join in some activities, including some for children.
So, please come and join us for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon in this amazing hidden gem!  There is a small entrance charge of £2 for adults, £1 concessions and 50p for children.

Summer Football Course.
Adam Bradley in association with Faringdon Town Football Club is delighted to announce that there will be a Football Course operating at Tucker Park, Faringdon during the summer school holidays.
The course will run from Monday 12th August 2013 to Wednesday 14th August 2013 and is available to boys and girls of any ability, aged 5 to 13. It will start at 10.00am and finish at 2.00pm each day, with the clubhouse open to shelter from the sun or rain, plus toilets and Tuck Shop facilities. 
COSTS ARE £12.50 PER DAY or £30.00 FOR THE THREE DAYS.

Faringdon Youth Project
Come along if you are aged 16 – 24 years and need help with finding work, applying for apprenticeships, or courses.  Also we offer more general help in finding out what you want to do, what you’re good at and confidence building etc.  Our volunteers offer practical help, are supportive, and most importantly, we are good listeners. We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month. The next date is Wednesday 17th April, 4-5.30pm.
