Joint Environmental Trust for Faringdon

The Trust is a Joint Committee which operates within the town of Faringdon, financed with grants from the Vale of White Horse District Council and Faringdon Town Council.
Its meetings, which are open to the public, are held in Faringdon four times a year.

The purpose of the Trust is to help preserve the best of the physical appearance of Faringdon and to help improve its environment. It can do this in several ways by offering financial help to individuals or voluntary organisations towards the cost of restoring their historic buildings, improving their shop fronts or carrying out environmental improvements.
The Trust is also able to initiate and implement its own improvement schemes.

Funded by Faringdon Town Council and Vale of the White Horse District Council, and including representatives of local organisations.


Objectives:
To revitalise the town centre and increase commercial investment in Faringdon by seeking:-
· To maintain and improve the viability of the town centre as a shopping centre
· To improve the quality of the environment in the town centre and surrounding area
· To improve and promote the quality of visits to the town centre for people using the centre’s attractions.
· To improve pedestrian, cycle and vehicular access and movement in the town centre.
