Dear Friends,

2002 proved to be a successful year

· The football club visited Le Mele at Easter – a good time was had by all.
· A youth group visited us in April ,enjoying days out in Oxford, Swindon and at Blenheim Palace as well as the ‘annual’ Garden Party and Skittles evening
· Mathilde came to work for three weeks at Portwell House in July.
· In November we hosted a group from Le Mele who enjoyed a day in Bath and an evening at the Firework Display followed by a meal and disco for 120 people at the Corn Exchange.
· Our Barn Dance in May was a great success as were the French Breakfasts in May and October.

Many thanks to all those people who hosted or helped during the year – without your support we would not be able to carry on our activities.
2003 - Just to keep you in touch with what is going on this year.
Easter Weekend
A group from the LeMele Football club will join Faringdon Football club for a weekend of fun and entertainment. There will be a match on Easter Saturday followed by food and entertainment in the club house. We are expecting about 38 guests and are still looking for host families . If you can help us please contact Jeannie on Faringdon 240374.
French Breakfast
While you are out shopping in Faringdon come and try our French Breakfast of croissants and Tart au Pomme with tea or coffee. At the Old Town Hall on Saturday 10^th May – 10.30- 1200am . All welcome.
Barn Dance
On Saturday 17^th May we are holding a Barn Dance in conjunction with the Junior School. We had a similar dance last year and a lot of fun was had by all - young and not so young! For further info. please look in May’s ‘Whats On’
Boules
We are hoping to have a Boules Evening with Highworth Twinning Group on Saturday June 14^th.- to be confirmed
70^th Birthday Celebrations
27^th,28^th,29^th June – An invitation to join the LeMele Football Club to celebrate their 70^th Anniversary. We will be joined there by groups from LeMeles other twin towns, Falkenstein in Germany and Libcany in the Czech Republic.
Cheese and Calvados in Normandy
31^st October – 3^rd November - our next visit to Le Mele. If you think you would like to join us please put this date in your diary. We are planning a tour of the ‘Cheese Factories in Normandy’ with a stop at the Calvados Distillery!
Youth Groups
LeMele – Faringdon 6^thApril - 3^rd May - We are expecting a group of eight young people(13yrs - !6yr olds) with two Leaders(over 18) from LeMele for a weeks holiday. They will spend the week exploring this area supervised by the Leaders. A weeks itinerary will be arranged for them , including some evening entertainment.
Faringdon – Le Mele
12^th – 19^th July A group of eight young people plus Leaders will go to LeMele for a weeks holiday where they will be hosted by local families. An itinerary will be provided and entertainment organised.
Work Experience
LeMele – Faringdon
Three students will spend a month as ‘Au Pairs’ for families in Faringdon
7^{th _} 19th July A group of three students from LeMele will visit Faringdon on Work Experience.
Faringdon – Le Mele
12^th – 18^th October – Three students from Faringdon will travel to LeMele for work Experience.
Our A.G.M is on Wednesday 9^th July in the Old Town Hall at 8.00pm.
