Le Mele Sur Sarthe
Le Mele is a small town set in the heart of Normandy in France. In many respects it is very similar to Faringdon being set in a rural community with many small villages dependent on it.
The nearest large towns are Argentan (40 km) and Alencon (20 km) . The ancient towns of Sees with its cathedral and Mortagne with its medieval houses are a short distance away.
Le Mele is situated on the River Sarthe and has a large fresh water lake which is used for water sports and fishing.
Le Mele has two other twin towns -Falkenstein in Germany and Libcany in the Czech Republic
