U3A: University of the Third Age
  • After the ‘first age’ of childhood and education, and the ‘second age’ of work and raising a family, there comes the ‘third age’ of retirement.
  • The main purpose of U3As across the UK is to encourage lifelong learning.
  • University is used in its original sense of a group of people coming together to learn.
  • U3A is a lively association, open to anyone but primarily those over 50 who are not in full-time employment.

Faringdon U3A serves Faringdon and district
It offers a programme of educational and leisure activities for retired people.
It is part of a worldwide movement.
