faringdon farmers' market |
| The Faringdon Farmers' Market has been running
successfully since its launch in April 2001. The market takes place on the first Tuesday of each month in Faringdon Market Place to complement the weekly market on those days. Stalls are positioned on the apron beside the Old Town Hall and at the front of the Bell Hotel. Faringdon is buzzing with people on each month's occasion and the Market is proving to be a real pull for people from the town and its surrounding villages. We have enjoyed a turnout of 8-12 stalls on average throughout its period of existence. High quality produce on sale presently includes beef and pork products, fruit, plants, herbs, trout, bread and cakes, rape seed oils, vegetarian delicacies, tomatoes, flours, pickles and chutneys and other general foods and occasionally crafts such as hats and bags. The Market was filmed for the TV programme "Heart of the Country" in August 2004. Details and features of the market can also be found regularly in the Faringdon "What's On" and Faringdon Folly newspapers. The market dates for 2011 are: January 4th, February 1st, March 1st, April 5th, May 3rd, June 7th, July 5th, August 2nd, September 6th, October 4th, November 1st and December 6th. The April edition in 2011 is our tenth anniversary and we will be putting on special events to celebrate this auspicious occasion. There is still room for more stalls and if you want to offer your farm or home produced goods as part of this Market, you should contact Mrs Rosemary Packer on 01367 710445 (tel/fax), or Mike Heathcoat on 01367 241468 (tel) for our Terms and Conditions of operation and an Application Form.
